"Never pet a burning dog"
I grew up on the front range in Colorado, my mom was born and raised on the western slope. We go a couple a couple of three times a years to camp, hunt, visit family. When we went camping was were always next to a creek/stream. That creek/stream provided the water for cooking/cleaning/fishing. That cleaning part was also my folks sending me and my brothers with a bar of soap to take a "bath". Yes, we stripped down to our birthday suits and hopped in. Can't do that these days as there are too many people from out of state that go there now. Plus, the water is way too cold now for some reason! No oil, though!
Spent almost four years (1950-54) of my youth growing up here at Fort Brooke in Puerto Rico’s 16th Century El Morro fortress.
